Secret and Hidden Features for your Australian Tesla Model 3 or Model Y!

These are some of the hidden features and secrets of your Tesla you may not have known about!

Mobile & App

  • To easily navigate to a specific location, share it from your phone browser to the Tesla App, and it will be added to the maps for you.
  • By using the Tesla App's Remoteless Keyless Driving feature and pressing "Start," you can start your car and anyone can jump in and start driving it without a key (up to 2 minutes to start the car). Handy when your phone battery dies and you don't have your Tesla keycard!
  • Customize your Tesla App by adding a widget to your phone for quick access to controls. You can even rearrange your most used shortcuts, such as Lock, Frunk, Trunk, and Aircon, by holding onto their icons.
  • Have you ever lost track of where you parked your car in a multi-story car park? Simply use the honk function to locate it.
  • If you've misplaced your car outside a shopping centre, you can use the Tesla App's location feature to see where you are in relation to your car.
  • Beat the heat or cold by turning on your Tesla's air conditioning or heater before getting into the car on a hot or cold day.

On the Tesla Screen

  • In the event of screen errors or software issues, you can reset the Tesla screen by pressing both buttons on the steering wheel for 5 seconds. You can continue driving while the screen reboots.
  • To access your most used functions quickly, drag their icons to the dock at the bottom of the Tesla screen.
  • Tapping the battery icon on the Tesla screen will switch the display between kilometers and percentages.
  • Use Joe Mode to reduce the volume of audible alerts, making it easier to keep sleeping children undisturbed.
  • Access a variety of fun and wacky options through the Toybox feature, including fart sounds.
  • If you've accidentally activated the turn signal, you can reset it by pressing it in the same direction rather than the opposite direction.
  • Set the parking brake or neutral by holding down the gear stalk P button and pressing the stalk halfway down.
  • Adjust the placement of the side camera view while signaling by holding and dragging it to your desired location on the Tesla screen.
  • Set priority mode for a mobile device to adjust the car settings to the driver who has priority, useful for when there are two people with mobile keys.
  • While driving, you can access the side and rear cameras by pressing the camera button on the Tesla screen.
  • Use the swipe up or down function on the Navigate feature to quickly access your Home or Office locations.
  • Adjust the Autopilot speed limit by adding or subtracting 5 kilometers relative to the speed limit.

External

  • To adjust the height of the boot, manually adjust it to the desired height and hold down the button on the boot until it beeps. This is useful for low garages or tight parking spots.
  • You can easily open the charge port by pressing the Tesla charger button. If you press it 10 times, the charging light will go into rainbow mode.
  • Simply press the charger port door to open it. Once the charger is taken out, it will close automatically.

Voice Commands

  • "Open/close butt hole" will open/close the charger port
  • "My butt/balls is/are cold" turns on seat warmers
  • "Eject passenger/driver seat" turns on seat warmers to max
  • Try some of these and see what the car responds with:
"Open the pod bay doors, Hal."
    "Make it so, Number One."
    "Punch it, Chewie!"
    "Activate James Bond Mode."
    "Summon my car, KITT."

Security

  • To save footage to your USB drive while driving, simply honk the horn.
  • To conserve battery usage, you can turn off Sentry Mode when parked at home or the office.
  • Enable PIN-to-Drive to prevent unauthorized use of your Tesla.
  • Using the Tesla app, you can access the car's cameras to view both the interior and exterior of the vehicle, allowing you to keep an eye on what's happening at all times.
